U.S. begging for your anti-terrorism ideas
Times | Submitted by: Crazy Quagga
Having run out of ideas after little more than a month, the Pentagon is
offering a reward to the general public to figure out a way to defeat
terrorism. "Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defence, is known to be
frustrated with his underlings’ inability to think "out of the box" in this new
kind of war, but appealing to every Tom, Dick and Harry for a good idea or two
may not do much to reassure the public that the country’s safety is in the best
possible hands." In other words, the people who dedicated their lives to
protecting this country have no clue what to do. It gives you a warm
feeling.... a warm, wet, yellow feeling in your pants, that is.

Reporter terrorizes sewage plant
Nashville Scene | Submitted by: Soylent
"After warning that terrorist saboteurs might try to poison Metro water with

he'd show viewers how easily that could happen by dramatically crawling under
a wire fence just a few hundred yards from the city's water supply."

Pinheads of Gujarat
New York Times | Submitted by: anonymous
Pinheads in Pakistan. "The small-headed ones became known as chuhas — "rat
children" — and generations of them have been abandoned here by parents to take
their place in the legend." But there is also a more sinister side: "In the
past 15 years or so, the practice of reshaping a child's skull — so evil that
many people choose to call it rumor — has been snuffed out, said Mian
Ubaidullah, a Pakistani historian who studies the chuhas."
