But Idaho doesn't list marijuana as a narcotic." [Note: Narcotic is normally a medical term, describing a genre of drugs of which marijuana and THC are not. But opium is.] "The court said that because marijuana is not listed as a narcotic, Matthew Patzer could not automatically be presumed impaired, like motorists who have been drinking alcohol."

National ID cards coming

Apparently some people continue to believe that a national I.D. card system could have prevented September 11th, never minding that the attackers had legitimate passports, visas, and driver's licenses. Now they're asking Congress for $100 million funding to study an end run, coercing the states into this under the pretext of driver's license databases, rather than the furor over a federal law. Spokesman: "The whole issue comes down to improving public safety, protecting national security and preventing identity fraud." ID cards do none of this.
