Police misplace human remains in evidence room
Macon Telegraph | Submitted by: jackie
"An attorney representing former Tri-State Crematory operator Brent Marsh in civil cases discovered a skull, forearm and hand while sifting through documents in a Walker County evidence room, officials said. Lawyer Stuart James said he discovered the human remains Thursday in two small, white body bags. 'The forearm was a clean bone, but the hand had tissue on it. The skull, which was missing its lower jaw, still had tissue on it,' he said. Marsh faces civil lawsuits in Georgia and Tennessee and nearly 787 felony charges since 334 discarded bodies were discovered in February 2002 at the crematory in Noble, near the Tennessee line."

Disobedient teen resorts to arson
Cincinnati Post | Submitted by: Bob_McBob
"[John Layne] warned [his 16-year-old son] not to have parties, believing the warning was enough because the teen had never been a problem. Instead, he later found out, the teen had 'parties all week' that resulted in some damage to the house - holes in a few walls and a kitchen cabinet was scratched - but nothing that couldn't be repaired... 'It's incredible to me. He burned down the house to try to cover it up,' Layne said... 'I felt betrayed and hurt. I never want him on my property again.'"

Photoshop won't open currency images
CNET News.com | Submitted by: wmgains
"Photoshop and other programs will no longer be able to open files containing images of several nations' currencies, said Kevin Connor, director of product management for Adobe. The code to detect such images came from the Central Bank Counterfeit Deterrence Group, a low-profile association representing the national banks from Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States... users of Adobe Photoshop CS and Jasc's Paintshop Pro have complained that files containing images of the new U.S. $20 bill and several Euro denominations cannot be opened. Moreover, Connor stressed that the technology is already included in most color printers."

Marijuana associated with runner's high
CNN | Submitted by: Jim Jones
"The same family of chemicals that produces a buzz in marijuana smokers may be responsible for 'runner's high,' the euphoric feeling that some people get when they exercise, U.S. researchers say. High levels of anandamide were found in young men who ran or cycled at a moderate rate for about an hour, according to a study made public this week by the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of California, Irvine. Anandamide is a cannabinoid, or lipid molecule, that is naturally produced in the body. It is known to produce sensations that are similar to those of THC, the psychoactive property in marijuana."
