Man commits autodecapitation
Hazlet Independent | Submitted by: ...in dreams
"Two juveniles came upon a gruesome discovery Saturday night when they saw a man who had apparently committed suicide and, in the process, was decapitated. The body of Wolfgang Persieck, 50, of Union Beach, was spotted by the two teens, ages 14 and 17, as they rode through the back parking lot of the Hazlet Multiplex Cinemas... According to [Detective Sgt. Howard Nuss], Persieck decapitated himself by using three separate ropes, tying one end of each around a light post in the back parking lot of the theater located on the northbound side of Route 35, and the other around his neck. Once the ropes were secure, Persieck got into his 2004 Ford Explorer and started to drive. His head was found approximately 100 feet from his body, Nuss said."

South London Press | Submitted by: optional
"Daniel Watson, 31, tied a rope around his neck and attached the other end to a tree near the grounds of Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. He then climbed into his car and began to drive away. As the cord tightened, his head was torn from his body, killing him instantly. Sports centre staff were alerted to the gruesome suicide on January 6 when they heard Mr Watson's blue Metro hurtling down a grass bank and smashing into a tree. They rushed to the scene and discovered the headless torso. Mr Watson was engaged to be married and had returned from a trip to Thailand weeks before the tsunami struck. His family said the shock of watching TV pictures of the disaster left him depressed and frustrated."
