"A 59-year-old Park City, Kansas, man has been arrested in Wichita's notorious 'BTK' serial killings, according to Wichita police... Lt. Ken Landwehr, commander of the task force investigating the case, said Dennis Rader was arrested during a routine traffic stop and was taken into custody Friday. He is a suspect in the killings of 10 people since 1974... The BTK case - which dates back to 1974 - has come under renewed scrutiny in recent months, with the killer sending out letters in his continued taunting of law enforcement. The killer calls himself BTK, 'bind, torture and kill,' a pattern he has followed with most of his victims... Robinson was convicted of killing three women in Kansas and five in Missouri. The 61-year-old Linn County man sealed most of his victims in steel barrels. His wife, Nancy, testified at his 2002 Kansas trial that she still loved him despite his numerous affairs and sado-masochistic sexual preferences. Craig Pieri, was indicted on 20 counts that include nine counts of rape against the young girl he claims is his daughter. Now we have learned the original charge against her mother for 'failure to protect' has been dropped and the case was re-filed with additional charges against her. Now Marylyn Pieri is being charged with child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Court records state that the young girl not only told her mother of the rape but that Marilyn Pieri even walked in on an alleged sexual assault, but did nothing about it." Read article... According to WLBT-TV, court records indicate they agreed to do so in exchange for cash and heroin from Abu Sayyaf, a radical Islamic separatist group based in the Philippines." Several members of the US Senate are among those affected, who could now be vulnerable to identity theft. Senate sources say the missing tapes may have been stolen from a plane by baggage handlers... Bank of America said the tapes went missing in December while being shipped to a back-up data centre... Pat Leahy's credit card account are among those missing, Senator Leahy's spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler said. Ring, 49, also warned the business owner in August 2003 not to hire two women who he knew were working for the Sheriff's Office as confidential informants, charging papers said. He also allegedly gave the business owner the undercover name and physical description of a Seattle police detective, and he regularly tracked criminal histories for the business owner on employees and clients."
