Old Lady Sighs: Alone Again
Wire Services | Submitted by: P Ray
"I'd go in, and I'd talk, and I'd forget. I put glasses on her. When I put the glasses on, it made all the difference in the world. I would fix her up. I'd fix her face up all the time.... I could see him, I could look at him, I could touch him. Now, some people have a terrible feeling, they say, Why do you want to look at a dead person? Oh my gracious! Well, I felt differently about death."

Deepwater Drilling: Cuba Wants In
Wall Street Journal | Submitted by: ditchley
"Florida has long fought to prevent oil drilling anywhere near its white sandy beaches. But as the state continues to deal with oil from the Gulf of Mexico spill washing up on its shores, it faces a new threat: deepwater drilling in nearby Cuban waters... A spill there, even one significantly smaller than the continuing BP spill, could turn into an economic and environmental nightmare for Florida. Some oceanographers say the oil would likely be carried up Florida's Atlantic Coast, the heart of its tourism industry."

Der Spiegel | Submitted by: Pius-12th., Stewin’ Jews, w/ pork & potatoes...
"Item 5 on the agenda was a contentious issue: what to do with old files on Belgian priests who have sinned against children... It was these files that had attracted the interest of Belgian investigators. Law enforcement officials received a tip from a retired priest who says that for years he has been providing his church superiors with secret files that prove that priests have been sexually molesting minors. So far, though, says the former clergyman, his information has not been acted upon."
